Semtex the Black Mage reviewing his time in Face of Mankind

Just a little sidetour here. Semtex is about to tell us all his findings about the open beta of Face of Mankind (link found down below for the beta client)... Click the title for the review..

Rosetta Stone

After coping with terrible sickness in our party, we left our camp in the Sunken Shrine and went wandering around the dark halls till we found the Blue Crystal of the Water Element. And about time !
After a huge battle with the demon guarding it, which nearly costed us the life of Semtex the Black Mage, we beat it fair 'n square and freed the crystal so that all water was drinkable again.
Never saw those trapped mermaids, though. Maybe we can come back for them some time later on.

While heading back to the city of Onrac, we came across a plaque just outside of the city, stating 'Bloglines has been taken over by AskJeeves.com', so on arrival in Onrac we immediately checked out Bloglines, because we never heard of it before. With all the tooling they provide, I think it even surpasses Thunderbird in RSS reading !

While walking around Onrac towards the inn, welcoming all the warm welcome and congratulations by the folk, we were offered some strange
glass balls of no value, but they just looked pretty nice !

We overheard some great men talking in the Inn about something called the Settlers Multiplayer demo (450 Mb), whatever that is.

We'll go under now, for a good night's sleep and rest. Onward to the fourth and final Crystal !

Sunken Shrine #1

I woke up, I heard a sound of some sort and looked out of my tent when I saw a strange sort of box of light with the above displayed on it. I think it's a sign or vision of some kind.

When we all woke up, we had some breakfast inside the tent and Semtex the Black Mage started talking about another adventure he had, dubiously called Face of Mankind (which by chance is offering an Open Beta).
After exchanging anekdotes we got up and started searching the darkblue hallways which were all we saw outside our tent.

While troddling around the Sunken Shrine trying to find out what we and my party are supposed to do here, we stumbled across an old parchment telling us the story which is depicted here in the form of an Advent Children Trailer.

I began my morning...

...in the briefing room (photo 1, photo 2, photo 3)

over a cup of morning potion,

discussing the tactics with my party.
Then we head out. We had acquired some information on the whereabouts of the caravan which sold the bottled fairy.

So we took off in our airship and crossed the lands to the small patch of desert at the top of the great western desert.
We found no suitable landing spot however, so we had to park it way out. Walking through the forests and deserts, we came across some highly skilled assassins in the form of hideous creatures, which we took care of in a professional way.
Stumbling onto the caravan in said place, we bought the fairy-in-a-bottle from the merchant for an atrocious price and returned to our airship.

We took it up again and on towards Gaia. When we barely entered the city, the bottle started to shake and make strange noises and out came a floating light which immediately floated away from us.
We ran towards the well and saw the escaped fairy there. She thanked us for releasing her and give us something in return.
Oxyale !!!

We took a well-earned rest at the local inn, which was cozy but pretty expensive.

While resting, I dreamt about a beautiful place where nice Aqua Icons were to be found.

Awoken fresh 'n sound, we had breakfast in the dining room and set sail in our airship toward Onrac. There we could put the Oxyale to good use using the submarine which that lovely girl had built.
We go down into the ocean with one final cry for help from the girl, to save the Mermaids...

And we come across a plaque on the inside of the submarine saying Solaris 10 has been released, while we submerge in the airpocket which encapsulates the Sunken Shrine...

Dunno, misc things ofcourse, mostly aimed at or around Final Fantasy probably.

Why Final Fantasy ? BECAUSE IT ROCKS ! :P

Got to admit, haven't finished one yet ! :) Take up way too much time really.. Have 2 crystals in Final Fantasy 1, still busy on CD 1 of FF VII (PC version)... *shame*

I'm currently busy compiling the uBeruLtiMate FF Music Collection, I'll keep u up to date on that one..

BTW all times are in GMT+1 since I'm positioned in Holland !
